The diagnostic hearing evaluation is an initial step to check the level of your hearing loss, its type, and extent. The process will also detect the causes of your hearing loss. It covers a range of tests to check the level of your understanding of the speech and other aspects. The audiologist will perform all these tests. This will help the audiologist to collect the information to select appropriate hearing aids and also to design further a course plan for you. Here are some tests to be performed like speech testing, air conduction testing, bone conduction testing, tympanometry immittance testing, and others more. The evaluation process may take time from half an hour to 45 minutes. The audiologist will discuss the test results with you. Your medical history will be completed first and thereafter you will have an evaluation appointment. So, make sure that you would carry all the supplements or papers of any medications you take presently. It is suggested to you to take any of your family members with you during the entire process. And also in last, you are highly advised to feel free to ask any questions to clear your doubts.
